Update Factsheet

With only one year to go, we have prepared a factsheet about V4F summarising the background behind our project and our results so far. We have already made great progress, but there is a lot left to do in the final year of V4F!

You can download the full flyer here.

Innovation Radar Assessments after RP2

In our second periodic review, our consortium revisited and updated the innovations we see arising from our project. In addition to the three ones we identified in RP1, we added a fourth one to the list. All of 4 innovations have been assessed by the EC and published on their website.

1. "Active Helical Tapered double-clad Fiber with ring-shaped core for the generation of high-OAM light beams" can be found here.

2. "OAM-generated axial magnetic field scheme for inertial confinement fusion" can be found here.

3. "Novel borane targets for efficient proton-boron fusion" can be found here.

4. "Production process for highly reproducible synthesis of precursor materials" can be found here.

The interaction of vortex light with boron hydrides

Accompanying our latest peer reviewed publication on Laguerre-Gaussian laser pulses and their interaction with borane targets, a "Behind the Paper" article was released. You can read it by clicking here.

V4F in Laser Focus World

We are very excited that V4F is attracting interest from major photonics magazines! Laser Focus World has included our work on boranes in their latest article on the quest to find laser fusion fuels, alongside the work of other leading research institutes. The full article can be read here.
