June is a busy month for the V4F consortium, with our partners attending different events to showcase our innovative project!

Currently running is the "Women in Photonics" workshop hosted by IPHT in Jena. As the V4F consortium recognises the importance of growing community of young and talented women pursuing a career in photonics, we are keen supporters of this initiative. Our coordinator Regina Gumenyuk, a successful researcher herself who has coordinated multiple EC framework programme projects, attended the event, chairing a thematic session, presenting our vision, and talking about the challenges she has faced along the way. In addition, V4F is an official sponsor of the event, alongside the Optica publishing group, the Lasers4EU initiative, the German research council DFG and others.

Also running this week on Friday and Saturday is the event "Veletrh Vedy" in Prague. This is the largest science festival in the Czech Republic. Our partner IIC will be present and has lost of activities planned to showcase the V4F project and other work they do, including an escape game, presentations/shows, activities for little kids, information shops for interested adults and experts, and more. Part of all this are some posters that show the general steps of IIC's contribution to V4F, aiming to attract attention and provoke questions.

We will harness this valuable opportunity to its full extend to interact with the public, inform about our vision of nuclear fusion as a sustainable energy source of the future, and gather the public opinion on this up-and-coming topic.
